I am about to "upgrade" the 1-2 accumulator. Any special tools or tips before I begin? I have a 97 4.6. The only special tool that I need is snap ring pliers, right?
Make that a GOOD pair of snap ring pliers. Also a pair of safety glasses wouldn't be a bad idea either, Mine came flying out of there like a bullet. To make things a bit easier here is what I did ( the second time). Use a small bottle jack to slightly lift up on the 1-2 cover to take the tension off the snap-ring. It will also help you get the snap-ring back in too.
