Hey guys, just wanted to get a final opinion before I replace the 1-2 accumulator, hopefully this weekend. I have the 1-2 shift delay, with an occasional downshift once I am in 2. No other gears are effected and usually once it gets into second there is no problem. I have noticed that if I put the in 2 from a stop, and then shift into drive at about 45mph it drives just fine. So, does this really sound like a 1-2 accumulator issue? I figure either way, this is a cheap fix and if it doesn't work I am not out much money. So, do you think thats the problem? I hope so.

Yes, it sounds like it will help. It's cheap and worth a shot.

That being said, these cars are at/approaching 10 years old, many above 100k. The trans wont last forever, so I'd start saving my pennies.

Is their a 2-3 accumulator?
Yep.

If you want to learn alot about these transmissions, I suggest reading the "Ford OD Transmissions 101" in the tech articles.
