How do I make a fan switch to mount on the dash? The mechanics at the lot I bought it from rigged a wire from the fan and one from the battery and they would alligator clip it to the ebrake pedal. The day i bought it it nearly caught fire. The temperature Guage is inaccurate so I would like the switch to control it myself. What do I need to fix the temp guage? I plan to make this a problem solving day, if the rain holds off.

There is a 2 wire temperature sensor on a riser above the thermostat housing. That is the sensor for the fan. I would suggest wiring the fan in with the stock circuits. If the sensor is known good, and the fan still doesn't work correctly then you need to replace the IRCM (relay box behind passenger headlight). The one wire sensor is for the gauge. It is just off to the drivers side of the other sensor.

This is a 96, but it's basically the same. These are the two sensors.

I'm going to send you a PM with my phone number. I'm local to you and have some parts you may be able to use, and a pretty good knowledge of these cars.
