My tranny pan has a bad vibrating noise coming from it. Like a cell phone on vibrate but really loud. When i touched the tranny pan with a jack lever (stick) i can feel it vibrating, at first i thought from the sound it was a heat shield but then as i was checking i felt the vibration from the tranny pan. The vibrating is really loud too, no codes are thrown though. someone said it might be valve body others say it is mlps switch im lost. what do guys think it might be?

So that means time for a new valve body right? And if so how much is it gonna run you think?

No, my 95 T-Bird ran just fine with the buzz, for 247,888 miles.

And yes, the noise was loud - it sounded to me like the transmission wasn't quite in the park position - as if it was slipping out of park - so to say.

not for nothing but the "buzz" is nothing that sounds normal to me, like we say oh the ticking you hear is the fuel injectors on our cars. this noise is loud! and vibrates bad! guys im not trying to be a a**hole but i really do not think its a common noise. something is wrong. i am not too mechanically inclined thats why i ask. tune ups easy mods no prob. tranny work or engine work i wont even attempt LOL.

It can be very annoying, and the article says it can cause parts to wear (I always thought it was just a live with it thing). I thought that you couldn't just swap in a newer main control because the locator pin size changed, but I have never tried. I had a friend with the buzz in the tranny and it was annoying, like a fuel pump going out x20.

I had an 89 coug that had a very loud buzz sound, sounded like someone feeding a table saw some thick stock.

It started at about 180k miles, the trans finally died at 242k miles, always shifted good, I got rid of it at 202k, sold it to a friend, and he finished it off. Orig head gaskets too.
