WILL they take the 235-70-15 also? Looks like it would.
Why would you want the 70 serious tires?I think they may prove to be too tall resulting in a lower final drive ratio.Go with the 235/60R.15's.They fit perfect and are plenty wide.

This is my Dad's SVO car(AKA timb's old car)with 235/60R15's.

Perfect tire for the 15 inch stockers IMHO.

Yea, I see that 235/60 is the way to go. I was thinking of my Caprice that took the 235-70-15 but that was a bigger car. DUH!

Another vote for 235/60/15. I chose the Firehawk Indy 500 (blackwall side out). My hand was forced when two of my tires began to separate. I wanted to go 245/60/15 with another brand, but that was too much tire for the 6.5" stock rim width (min recommended was 7").

It's not the uberupgrade, but it's a good compromise for stock rims. I would rather have gone with a complete rim/tire upgrade, but $omething $topped me...

I put Avid 245/60/15's on my first bird. Looked great, my sister (who has the car now) still gets compliments on it.

Really?I would like to see a pic.I think that might look real good.But if you went with the 245's wouldn't you want to kick down to a 55 series tire just to try and stay close to the Rolling Diameter?

Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of the 245's on the car. As for the size, the stock tires are 26.9" in diameter, the 245/60/15's are 26.6" in diameter. And good luck finding a 245/55/15 tire.

My sister still has the car, I'll see if I can get some pics tomorrow at my nephews b-day party.

I just do not care for all the OPEN space from the top of tire up into wheel well. Looks like so much room. I figured the 235-70-15 would eat up some of the open look. How far off with the speedo be with the 70 under there? How is that corrected? Is the speedo gearing tire size stuff changable via the computer?

Your speedo and odometer aren't fed by the computer. You'd need a speedcal to correct them 100%.

I ran Firehawk SS20s in 235/70-15. Bulged a bit more than most tires, but handled fine and filled up the wells. I have 235/60-15s and they are SMALL. 4" of fender gap. Yuck.
