We had a great turnout at Moroso last night, 8 cars. I'll post pics in the misc section soon and get the timeslips scanned. Here is a rundown of my best time (except the RT) and I won't steal his thunder but Aaron had some of the best et's and rt's of the night with his explorer block.

60 - 2.316
330 - 64.64
1/8 - 9.821
1000 - 12.689
1/4 - 15.147
mph - 91.47

I think with the right gears and no wheel spin 14's wouldn't be a problem

Here is a run down of what the car has
02 explorer motor
Gen 1 J chip
J mod
ART exhaust
open 3.08

tim,

those a great results, I would be very happy with those results. I would say that it is a great deal for a thousand dollar motor. I'm sure it was 100 percent humidity and very hot there in florida, so the numbers are even that much better.

I can see that car being a 13 second car with the right tune/gears/torque converter.

Now, I can't wait until I put one in. A local guy here just bought that same motor, and is waiting to get it in.

It was a tad on the warm side high 80's and humid. Yes I was very happy with the results.....no one found the elusive 14's but some were REALLLLLLY close

looks like you need gears/ trac-lok the most. you could knock three tenths off in just the first 60 feet!

Good times...although I think 13s is pushing it. mid to low 14s for sure.

Had an awesome time at the track guys, we definetly need to get together again. My best run of the night was a 15.082 @ 92.41mph. Although I'd like to say I had the fastest time of the night, I believe 96 GoldBird had it with a 15.065 @ 91.17mph...but I did beat him on our last race of the night by .010 :D I scanned all 8 of my slips and you can see runs 1-4 here and runs 5-8 here (they are big, I'd resize them, but I'm house sitting and the PC at the house I'm at doesn't have any programs to resize it with)

My modifications are:
02 Explorer motor
Steeda UD pullies
2.5" True dual exhaust after the stock cats
J-mod
factory t-lock 3.27s
STOCK eec

Some time this comming week I will be getting my chip and will be adding an 80mm LMAF, 99 GT intake tube and air box along with the cooler plugs and T-stat, then I should see 14s

It was a lot of fun running the cars and talking cars

The bolt-on modded NPI held it's own against the PI's..., but I think it was the 3.73 rear and TC set-up that offset the PI's with 3.08's an 3.27's... PI 1/8 and 1/4 mi. speeds were higher, but the NPI with 3.73 got there faster... If I could stop spinning my wheels and hook up at the start, 14's are deffinately do-able... I've done 14.99 once...

my best times Friday nite were:

15.043
15.065
then
15.100

The closest race was the last one with AronK (PI) ... and it was really close... he ran a 15.095 I ran a 15.105.. our times were only .01 different, but he crossed the line only .0024 ahead.... that's 24/1000 of a second, right??? that's close.... it was kinda cool looking over and seeing another bird neck 'n' neck.....

here are the numbers:

Aronk 96 GoldBird
R/T .753 .745
60' 2.263 2.279
330 6.415 6.312
1/8 9.779 9.691
mph 75.94 72.36
1000 12.640 12.632
1/4 15.095 15.105
mph 92.26 91.37

looks like he got me the last 350'

Hey Aaron... let me know if you go to the track sometime after your new mods... I'd like another crack at ya, before my heads/PI cams and headers go in... uphold the honor of the NPI guys and all that....

congratulations, again.. that was a great race....

Yeah, I wanted to go back to the track asap after getting my chip so I can see what kind of difference it made. I'll let you know when I get it and when I plan to go....maybe we can get a few birds out there again :)

Make it after the 30th. That way I can race. I want to get some base time for my car. I will also post how much of a gain a RichardM tube makes.

There were some good runs made that night. Some good racing. I will be back once my suspension is done. My 15.33 shocked me. I thought it would be worse. I can tell you that the Gen II chip, 3.73's and stall converter make a difference, now I need more engine. Maybe I should throw my Explorer engine in for the hell of it to see what it will do! I'll deal with my 131K 94 engine till my Explorer engine has some magic performed on it. Just have to be patient...:(
