Ok so I'm dating this new girl that drives a 2000 taurus. Apparently her ex idiot boyfriend tried to change the accessorie belt and stripped the damn tensioner bolt. Why on earth Ford came up with such a design that allows you to strip that bolt I have no idea... Why she let someone that can't tell his left from right work on her car in the first place...

Anyways what are my options for removing the belt? I'm pretty sure I can get the belt off by removing the idler pulley right above the tensioner but I'm afraid I won't be able to get the belt back on. Any clever solutions or do I need to just replace the whole tensioner?

I've had this happen before on another vehicle..

Just use a pry bar this time..The tensioner will have to be changed out at some point though..

I guess if you think you'll still be with this girl the next time the serpentine belt needs replaced..
It would probably be worth changing out sooner than later.. :D

Rayo..
