O.K. i've done my research and I think I have all the answers but I would like others to verify.

To make a 2001 Stang trans swap into a 95 LX I would need the following: . . .

1) Swap the MLPS from the old tranny to the new
2)Swap the TCC from the old to the new
3)Repin the connector
4)JMOD-Drill the seperator plate

Here is where I need assistance. . .

The 2001 Stang torque converter is 6 bolt. . . I use the flexplate from the 2001 Mustang. . . CORRECT or INCORRECT?

At this point I'm good to go. . CORRECT or INCORRECT?

All assistance if appreciated. Also any other advise is too.

You will also need to move your shift lever from your old trans to the new one.

if you are going through the effort to do all this, I would recommend just buying a new TCC solenoid. They cost about $28 and knowing it is a new part gives peace of mind. it is MODEL YEAR SPECIFIC though, and goes with the CAR, not the year of the tranny...so for you, get a 95 TCC solenoid.

I just did a 98 Mustang tranny into my 94 Mark VIII. very easy
MLPS
TCC
moved the VSS over to the new trans
re-pin the connector
manual lever(shift lever)

I also got a Mach 1 TC, so I was good to go.

buy yourself a good can of trans-flush from the auto-part store. be sure to flush the tranny lines clean in BOTH directions.

other than that, you should be set.

see the link in Silver95Bird's 'work in progress" thread.
here is the link:
http://www.personal.psu.edu/tfg112/tbird/article/swap1.pdf

it shows you how to change the manual lever over from your tranny to the new one.

Best of luck, and enjoy your new tranny when done!

Oh, and be sure to index your yoke/driveshaft so you can re-install it in the proper location on the new tranny to avoid any driveline vibes!

You'll need the flexplate from a Mark VIII, or maybe certain years of Mustang GT. The Cobra has an 8-bolt crank, so it definitely won't work. Did they even have auto Cobras, anyway? :2huh: Anyway, I'd go with the 2001 GT flexplate to match the transmission just to be safe, but the Mark VIII one should work fine as well.

As far as getting the older TCC solenoid to fit the '01 electric circuit, just trim the top of the plug-in collar, as seen in Silver95Bird's thread that I posted the link from.

I used a saw-z-all, and then fine-trimmed the rest with an exacto-knife...worked out perfectly.

Fine tooth hacksaw blade works good too.
