I have found a 2004 F-150 4.6 engine for $1200 that is in Columbus, OH.

Is this a good price?

The intake on the engine has a TB that points forward like on a 94 T-bird but the intake seems to be very tall compared to a stock T-bird. Looks like I will have to do the normal swap over items + change out the intake & TB.

Is this correct?

What else will need to be changed since this came out of a truck?

Thanks,

Doug

I know where you can get an aluminum 2002 Explorer engine for another hundred and that will be a lot closer to having the things you need and be about 80 pounds lighter.

Yup, the intake would swap just fine. You will need a new hood with a great big cowl for it to fit under though.

Why would you do a triton intake swap? What are going to gain?

Well, it would have PI heads. But it'd have that ttaall intake on it. So you'd still need the PI intake from a car.
