I am looking to increase the gas milage on my wife's expedition. I found that FIPK thing from K&N that adds 20% MPG and 17HP. Would aftermarket mufflers do the same for MPG & HP ? What else could I do? She drives very smooth and rearly stomps on the gas. I am getting tired of getting 14 MPG in the city. I figured may be I could pull a couple more miles out of each tank. Oh, one more thing, will a chip help with that too?

Forget the K&N a chip will give you best results as well as making sure your tires are inflated properly

People with 4.6L explorers claim that the FIPK is great for highway mileage, haven't really heard about In town mileage though. I'm ordering up a FIPK and Magnaflow exhaust for my 02' Mountaineer soon as those two mods alone seem to up the Mileage a good deal. My wife currently sees 14.5-15mpg around town and 19.5mpg @ 75mph highway with our 02' 4.6L mountaineer with 3.73 gears.
