After many years of working with rules that were written for a different era in the club, and much discussion among the Administrators and Moderators we've updated and consolidated the forum rules.

Please read the changes here: https://forums.tccoa.com/29-rules/169497-law-land-read-before-you-post.html

There are a few changes but most things remain the same. Most of the changes are things that we already haven't been enforcing such as the signature restrictions outlined below. The most notable change is the removal of the profanity restriction. So, if you don't give a sh!t you can say so or if you want to drop the F-bomb here or there you can. Profanity as a means of expression is ok. What we will not tolerate is cussing each other out.

As it stands now the profanity filter is still in place we're working on getting that removed.

Change Log:

  • Removed profanity restriction.
  • Removed signature requirement restricting signatures to car and/or contact information only.
  • Removed quotation in signature 15 word limit.
  • Removed marketplace restriction limiting sale of items to cars, car relate parts and computers. However, Per Autoguide: Firearms, including Airsoft guns, are not to be sold or traded on the forum.
  • Removed reference to escrowing payment for marketplace transactions
  • Removed 30 Day, 50 post marketplace restriction. Sales will now be authorized when a potential seller, who does not currently have marketplace access, provides contact information to TCCoA Administration including legal name, home address and a contact phone number.
  • Reduced sale thread bump limit from 48 hrs to 24 hrs.
  • Consolidated and categorized rules text.

What about the wait 20 seconds between searches - that **** is irritating.

...
The 20-second wait is still there for vBulletin searches. Using the Google search box works around that delay, but I prefer the in-forum search features.
AutoGroup reduced the search wait from 20 seconds to 5 seconds effective today. Thanks to our AG support staff.

Yea, the search thing is annoying. I checked it out and was able to fire off several quick searches without issue. Is the delay still there? I thought we fixed that previously.

See above about the profanity filter. You missed part of my post.

No.

The old rules spelled out in great verbiage that we cannot post ...

  • Street racing stories on this site. It's against the law to street race.
  • Video or pictures that presents members or their cars performing potentially wreckless, dangerous or otherwise illegal activity needs to be cleared with an Administrator prior to posting. We do not and will not condone nor endorse unsafe or otherwise stupid driving.

Those rules were consolidated and are now covered under "Do not post: Messages that are in violation of federal, state or local law".
