I have 225/60/16s all around my car at the moment. The front two tires will need replacement soon and I found a couple Goodyear Eagle 225/50/16s for free on craigslist. I picked them up yesterday & they are in good shape with a substantial amount of tread left on them. It will only be temporary until I get another job (or they renew my contract at my old one, been 3 weeks waiting on them).

I know that they will fit fine, but they look to be about 1" in diameter smaller & I wonder if they will look bad or will they look decent. Has anyone else here ever done this?

Not sure about your math. A 225/60/16 will be roughly 26.6" diameter, 225/50/16 will be roughly 24.9". MN-12s have huge fender openings, IMO that size will look like azz on the car.

Check the load index on the tires too, you may have to put quite a bit of air pressure in them to have enough load capacity for the front as well. Typically a 225/60/16 will be a 97 or 98 load index, and the 225/50 will be 92, unless it is an XL tire. That's a difference of over 250 lbs. capacity per tire. Not trying to be an alarmist, just want to make you aware ...

cheers
