it's time to buy tires once more and I am looking at two different size tire the 245/50/16 or the 255/50/16 on my 16x7 sport wheels. I am planing on running the same size all the way around. Just wondering if any body has any pics of what either of these size tires look like on our cars or of any issues with either of these two tire sized.

Thanks

Are these what you call Sport rims?

I believe my car suspension is stock. So here is a good look for you to check out.
I just ran outside and shot 3 quick shots for you. Shows what tires I got on my car currently.

Front : 245/50z/16 Sumitomo's
Rear : 255/50z/16 BF Goodrich G-Force

I ran 255/50/16's on all four corners on my LE... and it was lowered with Eibach springs. no problems whatsoever except a burning desire to drive too fast!

I've got Yokohama Avid V4s's 245/50/16 for summer driving. I wanted to go 265/50/16 in the rear, but you can't put that wide of tire on a 7" rim.

IMHO, the best size tire for a 16 x 7 wheel is the 235 60 16.

The problem I see with any 50 series 16” size tire is that the sidewall is too short (i.e. diameter is too small) for the wheel well, unless you go too wide for the 7" rim.

Everything I've read about tires is that you want the tread width to be at equal to the rim overall width (overall width, not the bead width, so the 16 x 7 overall width is about 8” or so) with the section width as close to the tread width as possible, while keeping the diameter reasonable.

225 60 16 (OEM): Dia: 26.6, Tread width: 6.9”, Section width: 9.3”
235 60 16: Dia: 27.3, Tread width: 8.2”, Section width: 9.2”
245 50 16: Dia: 25.7, Tread width: 8.4”, Section width: 9.9”
255 50 16: Dia: 26.2, Tread width: 9.2”, Section width: 10.2”

I think MN12’s/FN10's need a larger diameter wheel before they need a smaller one.

Not the best showing the wheels, but 235 60 16:

But just my opinions.

Right now I have 235-55-16's and just want to go a little wider with a little more agressive look.

I agree, but even then the car still has to be lowered some.

I think I saw someone one here getting them.

The Grabber UHP is General Tire's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed for the drivers of performance pickups, as well as sport activity and sport utility vehicles.

I am not looking to put truck tires on my Bird.

I'm pretty sure the guys who are running 16's are using 255/50's not 245/50's.
