Has anyone installed 295/60-15 radials or 29 or 30 slicks on their MN12?

If yes, any modifications to the fender well needed.

You're going from the stock 26.7" tire height to a 28.9" tire height. I would imagine that you would need to make sure that it doesn't rub at it's height but the width should be OK if you've got the right offset wheel. Speaking of the right offset wheel, you're less likely to rub the fender if the wheel and tire are tucked behind the fender lip. That's where the offset will make the biggest difference. I'm going to guess that you would want a 45mm offset if you're going with 10" wide wheels.

I ran both the 295 drag radial and a 10.0X29 Hoosier with the IRS in the past. Both on 15X8 Weld Prostars. Both cleared, but would rub on the front of the wheel well under hard acceleration. The rubbing was caused by the lower control arms flexing in the stock bushings that attach to the subframe. New Delrin bushings in the arms and the knuckles fixed that.

Rick, Unless you are planning to run a power adder on the car you are really going to more tire on the car than it can use. The tire height increase may pick up a MPH or two at the track but likely at the expense of ET's.

Just my thoughts.

Its time for a new set of drag radials.

Mike, which rear shocks were you running?

Right now my rear shocks are the original, 1995 Mercury Cougar.
They really squat on the launch.
Plus my reaction times are .000.

When I pay attention to the Christmas tree.

Recently I believe you mentioned getting rid of the sway bars. Since I think you're still IRS, have you researched actually using a very big rear sway bar to make your car behave like a solid rear axle?

Is the 11.97 @ 109.35 running out of gear on the top end, or were you on the brakes?

6700 rpm, the 11.97.
200 rpm higher than the peak HP.

I need a better 60'.

That 11 was with 4:56 gears.

Best 60' was 1.65.

IRS rear suspension

Rick, when I ran the IRS, this attached photo shows most of the goodies. QA1 adjustable rear shocks (2003-04 Cobra) Supercoupe rear coils with 1 coil cut off, poly rear spring seats, (upper and lower)Airlift bags inflated as needed for track conditions. Delrin bushings at the knuckle and at the lower arm pivots from a MK 8 gentleman who has since past away. Custom aluminum subframe bushings of my design. Rear pinion brace from MN12 performance, Aluminum rear end bushings on the front, and custom rear mount. Cover brace. Large supercoupe rear sway bar. DDS level 5 axles and hubs. I might be missing a few details, but hell that was over 5 years ago.

Best 60' on the IRS was around 1.48.

On My car Rick!

4.5 inches of clearance standing from center of slick to lip. Not a lot when squatting at the track. Even worse with big Horsepower like EECDOC had with the Blower at the time. Not to mention as Mike has already stated look at the clearances to the front of the wheel well.
