I'm currently changing the gaskets on my 3.8, do i absolutly have to take the headers off of my valve assembly? The reason is that the bolts are rusted on and i've tried release-all and the torch to no avail.

No, you can disconnect the manifolds from the exhaust system and lift them out that way, but thats a serious pain in the butt.

Might be easier for you, tho.

I needed to slide a pipe over my wrench to get my exhaust bolts off.

Also, you may have considered this already, however you may want to purchase new hardware for reinstalling the manifolds... I snapped a bolt inside of the head putting the exhaust back on.

Ya, i snapped two bolts already on the lower intake, at least there out by like two inches, got some sort of bolt remover, have to drill a hole in the middle of the bolt then insert the remover, like a backwards tap set. Just having fun trying to get the rusted bolts for the thermostat out.
