I want to mess around with my 3.8 LX, but am not sure how far I can get with it. I want to stick with the V6 because it handles circles around my dad's identical V8 (4.6L). I am looking at going with a 4.2 forged stroker kit with a power adder, but haven't really seen anyone that tried to make big power with the V6. Anybody know what can be done with the V6, before I throw money at it? Thanks.

Plenty can be done with the V6. I would suggest looking over that site if you want to get an idea of what your option are. Mostly mustang stuff but much of it applies to the MN12 also.

heh, two cars just got into the 10's recently, from v6power. Both v6 stangs. One is a 4.2 stroker with nitrous, and one is a 4.2 stroker with a large turbo pushing 26psi.

There are no forged 4.2 cranks, but as you can see, you can hit 10's with the Ford cast 4.2 crank and be fine. About 5 stang guys have hit 13's NA, but not many have tried (I plan to) but the point is, these cars have a lot of potential. The record so far is 587rwhp and that's nowhere enar the limit, I can assure you.

Ok. I looked at that site; good stuff on there. Thanks guys. Thomas, your post says you have a 90 SC parts car. How much stuff do you have left? I'm looking for some suspension and brake parts, and a rearend with gears.

suspension, both front springs had a coil broken off. the rears are okay but have some slight rust on the surface. It still has the front brakes, but the rear brakes and spindles were taken for someone's rear disc swap, and the rear dif has been sold too.

like AEDM8 said, v6power is a great source of info, ALL the aftermarket performance companies hang out there like supersixmotorsports, moranav6racing, rpm-mustangs, all the owners and employees hang out there and give a LOT of good technical advice, as well as some of the great tuners like Justin and Pete. If you have a technical question it's sure to be answered there. Dont go to 3.8mustang.com they're all ricers lol.

The only problem I found with V6power is its all mustang (save a handful of people, I can only think of two right now).

Cant see the forest for the trees, huh? :) The engine tech applies to anyone with a Ford 3.8/4.2.

There are plenty of non mustang people but they act normal so you dont notice them as often. ;)

so whats wrong with that? It's still the 3.8 The EEC, Power Adders, 3.8 Technical, and General forums all, for the most part, apply to you too.

It's kinda like having a modular bird anf hanging out at modular depot where all the gurus share info.

oh they've never rdiculed me or ruled me out for having a bird, from what I've seen, they're actually impressed my it's uniqueness. Pete helped me out in time of need, v6sprout (jamie) powdercoated my valvecovers, I always get straight answers and great, well thought out opinions from them. And I always love slamming the newbie ricers on there too :D
