Gt 3000

Well, my t-bird is totalled, and i'm looking for a new car, my friend in Tucson said he'd sell me a VR-4 GT3000 Twin Turbo, new clutch, new upholstery, red color, leather, new 13 inch brakes, new tires, new transmition, 45k engine, 138k mile car, for 11 grand, or without the 45k engine and the 138k for 10 grand, is this a deal I shouldn't pass up? This is a 320hp twin turbo v6, umm, wow.

you profile says you were born in 1985, that makes you around 17 years old?

I hope you know what 17 year olds pay for insurance on a twin turbo anything.

Yes and what year is the car? That is not a bad deal. If you're not familiar with GT's then head over to 3si.org immediately. The VR4 is quite the machine. If it was not for insurance I would definitely be saving up for one. *edit* you posted the exact same time as me, but I would say 250 is way under. At least in big cities. Here in NY even a 3.8 thunderbird would run me about $330 a month cause I'm 18. I hate insurance.

My bud has a single turbo dodge stealth, which is basically the same as the mitsu, and he doesn't do too bad on insurance.

Pretty neat car too, not real fast only like high 14's with it.

Yea, I am "thinking" 250, but from your remark, I bet i'm hugely understating it, I shall keep shopping for N/A.

I've never heard of a single turbo 3si. Plenty of N/A GTs and Stealths, but all the tubo noes I know of are twins. But when you mix twin turbos with AWD, launching at 6000rpm on the street has GOT to be a rush with 300+hp and no wheelspin!

If you get that car use allstate. They don't make a distinction between the 3.8na and 3.8SC, and they might not for the GT and VR-4 either. :D

Greenbird.
Thats good news. I have allstate. So, a 94-95 sc will cost me less in insurance than my 95 v8 coupe costs?

3000GT VR-4's are amazing cars, but can be a pain to work on. The AWD is great, and the speed is awesome too. My buddys ran 13.1 with a K&N and a boost controller. If oyu can afford the insurance, I'd go for it. There's not too many things that can beat you on the street w/ a VR-4, expecially with the AWD.

Mildly modded GMC Syclone or Typhoon. :) But #1, they're not NEAR his budget, and he doesn't want the insurance on those either.

How is the reliability issue on the tranny of these cars? I've always wanted a Convertible 3000 GT, but do they come in VR4?

Someone please post a pic so people can see how beautiful the verts are.

This guy on this webpage says that all the 3000gt verts were done at a specialty shop, and they are not from the factory like that.

Don't get one made before 93. Those are plagued with tranny problems. But later than that and you shuold be ready to stomp some f-bodies. I don't think the VR4s come ni Verts, and thats because its better to have the solid roof to stiffen up the car in an AWD application.

Ah-HAH!! I knew I wasn't imagining things when I saw one on the freeway... There are only 1,618 Spyders, and only 877 of those are VR4. This has got to be one of the most beautiful cars ever.

SPYDER 3000 GT

The spyder is real nice and comes with a 65K price tag , 95 and 96 was it for those. Think your Ins. is high now , wait till they find out your getting a Spyder . Top goes right in the trunk with a touch of a button , time is 30 Sec,s . and also come with a 6 speed and still have the factory 320 HP motor . I almost bought one . D.W
