I got my '94 -Bird 'bout Five years ago. So much pride as you do know wanted to do so much to her,you know what I mean. But, with all the ideas in the world there just is'nt enough money to go around. So I mentally compiled a dream list of Go-fast parts to add to our beloved MN12. I positively remember a company that had the most excellant exhaust systems known to the Thunderbird/Cougar community,by the name of MN12 Performance but he's not doing it full time anymore a shame really.
Then I found out MAC Performance had a Cold-Air Kit (a really nice one too) it was to die for. It was made of polished aluminium or something they had it for the '96 and up cars I was so excited that someday I might be able to purchase such goodies and share them with others in the Club. But to no avail, these innovative Go-fast parts are no more. I don't know for the life of me why High Performance companies ignore such an incredible automobile like ours. If anyone out there has any idea where a guy can get these coveted parts ...PLEASE LET US KNOW!

The 96-97's breathe very well as it is, the only gains one would see with the MAC intake is A) the 90degree bend right before the MAF throwing off the transfer function and lying to the EEC about how much air the engine is getting. And B) Make your wallet a lot lighter after shelling out the big bucks for it. For looks, yes it's good, for "high performance" you need to start looking at things bigger than intake/exhaust.

for a 94-95 though, the Violin case can be a restriction, so I would go with the Richard M tube unless you want to make one yourself.

And honestly, even if it wasn't for the bend I don't see why anyone would want to go through the hassle of tearing in through the wheel well every time you needed to clean the air filter.

Richard M is full of [email protected]#$. $150 for an intake tube, he's gotta be joking. What a rip off. You could go to home depot or somewhere and get some rubber tubing for about $20.00. Don't buy from Richard M.

And you say "Don't buy from Richard M." why? Have you had problems with him in the past? Did he take your nachos? You can keep your ghetto Home Depot intake...there are people who want something nicer than a piece of rubber. Lets see you make a piece like he makes and sell them....atleast he's trying to help people!

I know for my 96 he told me he could get me a tube for $150. And thats connecting to a 75mm TB and a 90mm MAF. Where can you go to get a custom job like that? I know MAC or someone sells a kit for a 96 but wants more then $150

Damn cheap people, Why is everyone so damn cheap? fixing up a car for a hobby is not going to be cheap so DEAL WITH IT.

Big bird better retract.

BigBird101,
I expect you to back up your statement.
I have not seen mandrel bent oval exhaust tubing in 16 gauge steel at any home improvement store. You will also not find the correct PCV fittings, high temp reinforced smooth bore hose and all fitting under the hood for the '94-'95 cars there either.

BTW, I have no knowledge of you evaluating one or otherwise, so if you would so kindly retract your statement then i will not have to explain how much it cost to TIG weld the compound angle required to get it to line up and look soooo nice.

Stupid....

...comments like that are what drive good people from this board. Why in the world would you want to say some stupid CRAP like that. The tube is sweet....I was quoted prices for custom mandrel bent intakes in the Tampa area for $200 plus...I think that I got a quality intake for a reasonable price from someone who is very much trusted and knowledgable of the MN12. So unless you care to elaborate on your ridiculous comments, then keep them to yourself. I happen to enjoy being able to get valuable information about T-Birds here, without having to deal with the stupid comments of kids driving thier fathers cars who are pissed off that daddy wont let them mod the car. So when your father lets you start to mod the car, then you will be calling RichardM for one of his intakes...nuff said....sorry....

Ok Nick, now you can just bite me. :p I can only wish that my car looked that good. Or that I could even afford a RichardM tube. (are we still allowed to call it that?) Although I do still love your car. :) BTW, has anyone considered dynoing their stock 94-95 TBird before and after the RichardM tube to see if it makes a true difference? (I'll front the money for the dyno session if someone will front the money for a RichardM tube for "evaluation" purposes ;) )

If you people want to get ripped off go ahead, but some people on this forum go to college and have to pay the bills along with keeping their car working. I don't come from a rich family that pays my bills so I have to go with cheap and effective. The only reason I even have this car is because my friend's dad had a car lot. Got my bird for $1,000, and i'm still paying the bank back. Go ahead and pay $150 for an intake tube and give Richard M. a profit of about $100. Have a nice time spending your money.
