Hello...
Was interested in seeing if any one else has attempted a 4.6 swap into a 77-79 bird and if possible, I'd like to find out how hard it would be, if it will work at all,
and whatever parts I need to sucessfully do the swap - Any help wou;d be of value - Thanks

Without a doubt the 4.6 is superior to the 302. Especially a PI headed 4.6 vs a 70's 302. Full throttle to full throttle, the 4.6 will outpower the 302 but in a car as heavy as a 79 Tbird I'd rather have a bigger crankshaft. Torque is very important in a small block that's trying to push around over 4000lbs.

Anything is possible. Time and money are often needed though. I have seen a 50's Tbird with a 4.6 in it. I don't know any info on the technical end of it though. It's a computer controled engine though so you will need some tunning.
