Another 4R70W valve body build, this time for a 2003 CVPI.
The owner wanted a Jmod done to go along with his new Tuner.
He shipped a good Used valve body to me, which I completely stripped, cleaned and inspected. It was the cleanest valve body I have seen in a long time. The stock pressure regulator valve had no wear, but the boost valve and OD regulator shuttle valves were pretty worn.
I assembled the valve body with the stock pressure regulator valve, new valves from Sonnax and a new "Tuff" plate (separator plate) from Superior.
The new separator plate was drilled to Jmod spec:
hole 1 = .161"
hole 2 = .1015"
hole 3 = .180"
hole 4&5 = .113"
hole 6 = .161"
hole 7 = .089
hole 8 = not used in this application
hole 9&11 = .125"
hole 10 = .089"

The valve body was reassembled with new gaskets and the bolts torqued to 100 in lbs

Nice. So how'd it work once reinstalled? Was the customer happy?

I had to stop and think for a sec about what a CVPI was ... but I figured it out ...

Valve body shipped to the customer last week, no word on the Install yet.

I assume it will work well, I have used this method on several other transmissions and it always shifts well.
