I need to purchase a master rebuild kit for my MN12 IRS rear. I called Ford Motorsport and the guy I spoke with said they don't have one, you have to buy all the parts seperate??? That sounded foolish to me, but whatever.

My question is this... are all kits made equal, or do some actually have cheaper clutches in them and wear out sooner than others?

Can anyone point me to the direction of one that is a "good quality" kit? Also, does it include the "S" spring in it as well?

Thanks.

Hey bud, I have sampled alot of these parts, and I can point you in the right direction, if you want more info, just send me an email at [email protected]

Believe it or not their are some kits you can buy that have almost everything you need for a rear end overhaul, typically you do have to buy the S-spring seperate, and I buy the ford trac-lock rebuild kits seperately.

There is an FRPP diff overhaul kit, but I prefer to use super-shims, or machined single piece shims, the Ford kits come with a bunch of tiny shims that work for sizing things up, but not idea for a final build.

Check with Super Coupe Performance They've got a kit that I used in my Trac-Lok rebuild. Is a GREAT kit.

Only thing that you will need to get from Ford out of that kit is the 'S' spring, and also the front snout seal (aftermarket ones bind on the input shaft).

8.8 Rebuild Kit with Trac-Lok
