Hey, I have a '96 Tbird with the 7.5 rear end [3.8], I'd like to install the 8.8 but can't find any information on what is involved.

Do the drive shafts match up? What about half shafts? Or do I need to get new halfshafts [and hubs] just for the bigger rear end?

Thanks!

The diff bolts right in, and all the rest of your stock parts work fine with it.

Sweet, appreciate the quick replies.

I see them all the time at the JY, with lower miles than mine. Since mine just hit 100k, instead of re-oiling the diff, I was thinking just swapping for a 8.8 with better gears for more bite.

So the half shafts are the same between the two? In that case I should have done this a long time ago...

The V8 cars got stronger half-shafts, but they both interchange with either axle.
