Okay, I hate the stamped-steel thermostat housing that the early 3.8s have, with the coolant pipe that comes up over the serpentine belt. I just saw a '96 3.8 and noticed that it's got a molded hose that comes from a short thermostat housing.

I didn't get a look at the housing itself, but are the newer single-port 3.8s using a cast aluminum housing like a normal car? That'd be great. The second question being, is the shape of the new housing the same as the old one (such that they are interchangeable?)

Awesome! Anyone have one (later style cast aluminum thermostat housing) floating around that they'd like to sell? PM me if you do.
