I bought a used transmission for my '93 Mercury Grand Marquis in the linkage on the side is different and that seems to be the only difference is there a way for me to switch the linkages thank you in advance

Yes, if you drop the pan, there's a roll spring you remove and it will pull out after you remove the nut.

Yes, that is what i would do as well ^^^.
I've done it a few times, make sure the "rooster comb" goes back in the correct location, and don't force the roll pin flush with the case.

FWIW, 93 Panthers used an AODE, not a 4R70W.
