My son has two 94 Cougars. One is wrecked and it has a 4.6L I think. The good one has a 3.8L V6 which I just did a headgasket on and now have water leaking from behind the timing cover and also into the oil. Can anyone tell me if I can put the V8 into the V6 car without having to use the Transmission from the V8 car. Both cars are automatics and have multi port injection. Also, will I need to use the flywheel and torque converter from the V8 car, or the one from the V6 car. Thanks in advance for any help. From reading some of the other people's posts, it sounds like my timing cover leakage might be coming from water pump bolts that go through the timing cover. I was thinking that there might be some freeze plugs behind the timing cover or something. I will probably go ahead and tear off the timing cover, but am thinking of trading my son out of these two cars, and was curious how hard it would be to put the V8 into the V6 car.
