im thinking stolen lol maybe someone would be that stupid to put a stolen car on ebay

i would contact ebay about that car, something seems questionable about this car, and why no title if someone test driving it wrecked the car? its not like it was a reported wreck???

very odd

Yeah, it all looks pretty weird, but I figure weird "don't ask don't tell" cars are always good for parts :D

Of course ANY no title car can always be re-registered in Maine and then the title can be tranferred into the state the owner lives in. A buddy of mine just did this with a 57 Chevy Nomad he bought. It was a piece of cake.

I bought my 91 SC in need of repairs for $800 3 years ago but the seller claimed that he couldn't find the title. He promised to send it to me when he found it. When he did find it, he called me and asked me how the car was doing. I informed him that the engine wasn't siezed at all, but the steering pump had and that's why the engine wouldn't turn. He then asked me to sell it back to him and got all huffy when I told him I wanted to keep it.

Soon after that he skipped the state and I haven't been able to find him since.

I'll let you know how this Maine deal works out.

Here is the email I had gotten from my buddy about the Maine registration. He is on ChevyTalk.com all the time. I don't know if that is where he got this work around, but he did try it and he has a title for his 57 Nomad now.

First, the car needs to be over 15 years old, and Maine doesn't issue titles for cars over 15 yrs., so he needs to contact the Staab Agency. It can be found doing a search easily enough. They will fax or mail him forms. One of which needs to be notorized to give them power of attorney to sign his name at the motor vehicle admin. He also needs a bill of sale. I believe they need the forms mailed back to them, no faxes because of the notory. Then he will pay the taxes and the fees and they will issue a registration and mail him tags. Once he is the registered owner, he can go get a title in his state as long as his state only requires the signature of the last registered owner to issue a title. Have him determine what is needed in his particular state to get a new title issued without having one currently. He will have to pay taxes again in his state as you said.

You couldnt tell by the link that the auction ended like 2 days ago?
Nope, I didn't even pay any attention. I clicked the link and no sooner did the page open I looked at number of bids and the dollar amount and then closed the window. If I hadn't already known the car was blue I couldn't even have said that.
