Will the rear 94 SC bumper and side ground efx. fit on my 94 cougar??

Any fitment gaps??

I have both a 94 SC and cougar. My SC became hydrolocked yesterday and blew a headgasket or something (clouds of steam out the exhaust!!) I don't intend on spending the money on fixing....so I thought I would dress up my Cougar.

Since your SC is apparently down for the count...

What are your plans for it?

If you plan on parting it out, I'd be interested in the instrument cluster (or just the speedo). Also, the center console with the hand brake, especially if the interior is gray.

As for the fitment of SC ground effect and rear bumper on a Cougar, it should fit on with no problems. In fact, here are some photos...

Thanks for the pics\thread. As for the cluster the odometer stopped working long ago!! and console I am planning on transfering to my cat....sorry! need any other parts??

Man I can't beleive you're going to part your SC over a blown headgasket :rolleyes: ... Its not all that expensive or hard of a repair to do...trust me I did it with the help of a friend and it wasn't all to bad.

I guess that fact that 94-95 SC are about the rarest t-birds ever made has no meaning?

Yeah, just keep it in the garage until you save up some cash for the rebuild. Either that or sell it to someone who will fix it up. It's always a shame when people start parting these badass cars out.

Tim,

I am told that the supercharger and intake have lots of parts to remove. Lots of work I am told. Once when I changed out my alternator I tried to remove the IC tubes and could not get the flanges to move. How did you remove them? They seem to just turn off..right-any tips? How much did you spend to repair the HG's?

DId you have to machine the heads? What are the best HG's to buy? Autozone?

Head gaskets are not that bad. Fix them properly and they should last the life of the car (assuming you keep it fairly stock). Getting the supercharger and IC tubing off is not that great of a task. I recommend picking up a Ford service manual to help you along. I usually have the heads milled when I do HG's. Get the block deck surface as clean as possible. You will need new head bolts and you might as well throw in new plugs and at least an o2 sensor on the side that blew. The best head gaskets are Fel-Pros. It's been a few years, but the last time I bought their head gasket set it was around $140. This will include all neccessary gaskets to change the head gaskets themselves. While you have the heads off you might as well change the valve seals (included in the gasket kit). Change the oil before restarting. It looks like a nightmare under there, but it really is not bad. Label everything that you take off and label every wiring harness that you disconnect. I can assure you that your car is definitely worth fixing!
