Hi ya'll
Been gone for a while but now I am back. Got a 95 Cat w/4.6 and here's my issue. This spring I changed the thermo and flushed the system out several times and replaced the coolant 50/50. On my trip to town on the interstate (20 miles) and if the temp is above 75 or so, the temp gage will go to between the m and the redline. I kinda thought that I may need a new radiator as it may be stopped up, but didn't have the funding for said project. Now with temps not getting above 70, the temp gage stays halfway between the n and the cold line with little heat. I can not make the temp gage go any higher or get the heater any warmer. I am going to replace the radiator this spring b/c it has a hairline crack in one of the tanks. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Joe

Maybe you have some air in the system somewhere?

Of course w/ the crack in the side tank, it's only a matter of time before that gets worse.

if your radiator is clogged your going to want to back flush the heater core, or replace it as well, also change your fluids more often and ground the new heater core and or radiator

I forgot to mention that there's a new heater core in it (replaced in march of 06, flushed out engine but I think I didn't do such a good job on the radiator). I did ground the heater core as well
