Couple of huge hurtles but able to make some good progress recently.
Finished cutting/boxing/welding K-member (since no aftermarket when started) and installed engine with homemade engine mounts. Lowered steering rack with off set bushings and got engine to fit where the 4.6 sat.
Headers are from Ultimate Headers (S550 Mustang), and they helped move a couple tubes to fit the TBird perfectly.
The pics of engine in are deceiving, it does not stick up that hi, however, the TBird front clip is real thin going forward, and the engine is high above fenders. Looking at new hood to fit.
I have the Griffin 3 core radiator in and intercooler also in. The radiator I moved one inch forward (into radiator support), so I could make room for reverse facing alternator and aftermarket fan. Coyote front timing cover is bigger and takes up more space forward. Also have the trans cooler/fan installed, just need to do plumbing for trans cooler and intercooler.
Also finished the fuel supply, had to get to a bigger fuel pump, 455lph vice 255lph. The new pump has a bigger bottom than stock pump so I cut bottom of hat, return tube, and welded a new mount for new pump. I used factory hard lines, press/return but replaced press line for a 3/8 line. All lines, filter/check valve/regulator all installed and done.
Moved on to the rearend so I could finish the bigger items and order the new drive shaft.
I did some powder coating on diff and LCA's, and rebuilt/renewed everything.
3.73 gear with the Tac-Loc and axles from Drive Shaft Shop (ordering drive shaft from here also). DSS has been real good to work with, and they list axles specific for our TBirds. I got the 31 spline axle set. Also made a new ID tag for rearend, copy with my initials and date done...lol little fun.
