My wheels on my '97 Sport have gotten very dull, most of the clear coat has worn off and they just don't look good anymore.

I like the look of the wheels and really don't want to replace them, 2 have just a touch of curb rash, nothing too serious.

CAN these be polished by machine possibly to look like the shiney wheels and aluminum fuel tanks on big trucks?

I have also thought about finishing removing the clear coat and then coating with a clear gloss polyurethane.......

Any ideas?

Just repaint them. I did two of mine still need to do the other 2.

Clean well, get all the wax off with wax remover or lacquer thinner, wet sand with 400 paper.

Paint with VHT wheel paint SP188, Ford Silver. A couple of coats then use the VHT Clear over it.

On can does about 2 wheels.

The rash is actually right on the lip....I'm afraid to screw with it thinking I may make it worse-just don't want to paint over it......can I possibly use some aluminum filler stuff then sand?

Also, Thanks for the link, I already read that-THATS VERY COOL!! gonna look for a cheap non-op turntable!!

Anyone know what color that silver metalflake he used is?
