So With all my mods (in sig).. I raced my old man's '06 Impala SS 5.3L(303hp 323ft lbs., 3.27 gears, k&n with Flows)... and he smoked me all 3 times..ouch.. confidence bruiser..lol .. Those cars are fast, watch out.

Not surprising. Most of your mods are cosmetic to start with. I wouldn't bet you're not putting much more than about 200-210rwhp down on the rollers. Your cars probably weigh about the same, so it's not surprising he beat you with another 50rwhp or so on tap. Get a set of 4.10's in the pumpkin, a looser converter and a set of cams under those valve covers, have that chip reburnt and run him again. :D

Yeah, it's sad how many cars now do 0-60 in less than 6 seconds now in stock trim. But, you can't argue with Newton... F=ma. He's got more F and less m, resulting in substantially more a.

But, a good tune and some 3.73's or greater will really wake that car up. Cams never hurt too :D

I'm kinda shocked that you thought it would be close. That stock SS will run rings around ANY stock MN12 without even breaking a sweat.

Lots of REALLY strong mods are needed just to stay close.

Yeah, but your car looks better and costs less. What would happen if you put the price difference into yours?

My Cougar is far from stock and he still got me.. I guess, Like in nature. My cougar will chase those impalas for a short time.. but sooner or later I'll pounce on one and eat it for lunch...

Mods:2002 Explorer 4.6l, 2003 Maurader TC, SCP Chip, Cold Air Intake, Msd Ignition Wires, True Duals w/ Flows, Tranny Cooler, 180* Stat, Battery in trunk, SCP Ram Air Hood, 17' Cobra R rims, New Headlights w/ Clear Corners, Matching grill mesh inserts in hood, grill, and bumper holes, Blacked out windows, Kickin' stereo, Weight Reduction...
Maybe as far as listing every little thing you've done to the car it's far from stock, but performance wise, other than the PI engine swap, dual exhaust, Chip and slightly better Torque Converter you haven't improved it all that much. At least in comparison to an Impala SS. It may be a lot when compared to a stock high 15-second MN12, but it's still slower than most of the performance oriented cars on the road.

....not trying to take a shot at you, just giving you a taste of hard reality. With what you have done, you've got it running like it should have from the factory back in the mid-90's. Now it's time to take the next step and turn it into a real sports car if you want it to be noticed, or run with todays crop!!!

After reading your sig, you say you have a kickin stereo. This wouldn't happen to include a huge sub box and amp in the trunk, would it? If so, it kinda makes the "weight reduction" you list null I would think.

Just tryin to think of cheap ways to help ya out. I know it takes a lot to get these things fast, it just takes time. You may not ever beat one of those, but you can loose w/ style :D

But like was said, a set of 4.10's or 3.73's and a good tune would help. Also, no mention of J-mod, but I assume you have that already.
