I have to replace the compressor on my Aspire and I have a question about the oil vs. pulling a vacuum.

I know the amount of oil I need to add for the compressor and the receiver drier/accumulator replacement , but when I pull the vacuum on the system, after the component replacement, will that pull oil out of the whole system? Or do I just need to add the amount of oil the components require.

No, it won't pull out any oil. The vacuum will lower the vapor temperature of water and cause it to boil off and be pulled out of the system with the air; the oil will be unaffected. Distribute the oil between the compressor and accumulator (you can also distribute to the evaporator and condenser).

Cool! That makes things a lot easier! Thanks for the fast reply.
