I need to replace the A/C Compressor to Condensor Discharge line (F4SZ-19972-A), as it is leaking at a point midway along it's length, where it changes from a steel pipe to a cylindrical shaped piece.

Do I need to replace the Suction Accumulator/ Drier (F4SC-19C836-DA) when I swap this line out?

The Helm's book says to replace the Suc/Acum/Drier whenever a refrigerant line is replaced.

Can anyone tell me what they did ?

Everytime I have opened the system I have replaced the dryer. Some people do get a way without doing that but idealy it needs to be done

Thanks for the reply Tim.

I just spoke with our HVAC Service Tech at work, and he said that as long as I pull a vacuum on the system, after replacing the line, I shouldn't have to replace the suction accumulator/dryer. He has offered to do this for me, so I think I am all set at this point.
