I dropped the trans fluid to start the process of pulling the motor and trans, and lookie what I found:





I'm not really surprised. I lost 3rd & 4th gear, so I know something went on in there.

The fluid was not too bad. The chunks the magnet pulled out were a bit larger, but there weren't many:




I'm curious too see what the magnafilter caught:



and what's in the bottom of the pan:



Well, as they say, more will be revealed... :rolleyes:

Prolly a stripped direct drum or broken stubshaft,

Who do u have to repair that, u could always make a road trip and bring the trans up, I could beef up if need be

I don't know anybody here in So. Florida familiar with the 4r70 bulletproof upgrade, so I've been chatting with Alan at Dirty Dog Performance. I'm in the process of pulling the motor now. What I find in the motor is going to determine my next move. If it's just a blown head gasket, that's one thing, if it's deeper than that, it's another.
