Greetings, y'all.

So for the couple years I've owned my car, it wasn't until tonight I noticed a small white sticker on the driver's side door jamb that reads: "Calibration" followed by some other letters and numbers. Any idea why that would be there? It's a 94 4.6 xr7. Thanks y'all!

If the odometer was changed, shouldn't there be another label indicating how many miles the car had when it was changed?

Well he didn't say what the numbers are but yes if the odometer was changed it would have to be indicated.
It's a different sticker, much smaller than the one that would indicate when the odometer was changed, if it's the one I'm thinking of. My car has it, and I would think all had them.

Well if the speedo was swapped and adjusted to the correct miles, a sticker with the old miles would be unnecessary. :) but I think it'd still be required.. Anyway... the number on the sticker isn't miles.

Yea, that's the sticker in the picture. Thanks

Just random curiousity... Thanks, y'all. :)

Mine has one of those stickers too. Isn't that where they calibrated it at the factory?

*cough cough* I wouldn't know anyone who would do that *cough cough*

As I'm sure you know 145mph isn't stock for the LX/XR7 ;)

That code is needed by ford when you get emission control parts from them. When i got my IAC the guy needed that code to get me the right one. They said that if i need any emission parts like EGR, IAC, and bunch of other stuff, they need that code.

well i know for a fact that the PCM's were recallibrated to fix some stuttering and shifting issues w/ the transmission.........not sure what calibration number i have 'cause it's midnight around here, but i'll check the tsb and my calibration number and if they're the same then that's probably it.

Now I just need to figure out how to safely get a picture of it while it's pegged... :D

Put the rear end up on about 3 pairs of jack stands, gingerly get into it, start it up, and run it until its pegged? 145MPH in place must be scary. :)

Although if you had a friend that worked at someplace like discount tire that has a true FRAME lift. You know, that doesn't touch the wheels but still lifts the car, that would be ideal. But only do it if you'ev got a Mk VIII driveshaft in there buddy. Would hate to see your car ripped to shreds. Then you'd just have to send me your whole guage cluster. ;)

If you crash maybe it will get stuck at 14mph. That would be cool hahah Then someone else can safely walk up and take the picture for you.

Um.. I was thinking more along the lines of on a dyno. ;)

Good thing is with my 3.08s I'd only need to be at 4000rpm in OD to make 145mph.

So I'd need a new driveshaft but the TC would still be ok.

<img src="http://members.tccoa.com/94birdnj/calibration.gif">

here's a cleaner pic of mine. 4-18B-R05. that's what was on there when i got the car, but under the hood there's a ford sticker saying that it was updated per this TSB

I have one too. I know my engine was once replaced because of the sticker that used to be on the engine. Maybe that was around the time they did some re-calibrating to it. But I was hanging with another tbirder the other day and he had one too. That was the first time I really noticed mine and the first time he noticed his. We thought it was something from the factory.

This is what it is

I have a sticker under my hood saying my PCM was reprogrammed.. I also have that calibration sticker on the door, like in the pick above.

My speedo broke and then I had ford fix it. This is when they put that calibration sticker on the door jam.

Both of the 96 T-birds that I have had, has had that sticker on them. On the first 96 I was the only owner of it, so it is a factory sticker.

Like i said before,

This comes on all cars and it has to do with emission stuff. This was straight from Ford. Like there are 2 IAC's that come up in ford system and they can tell what one you need from that sticker. So it has nothing to do with changing the speedo or reprogramming the PCM. Its on every thunderbird. At least on all the 96 birds.
