That's pretty good Mike... pinning someone else on your stash :p But with that kind of stash, couldn't you have sold it quick and had your 'Bird done? :p

Well 40 million was at the high end of the sherriffs estimate of it's value. Most likely based on it's final retail value, at street level, in small quantity.I suspect whoever was wholesaling it wasn't going to gross anywhere near that much for it... that estimated 28~40 mil gross was getting divied up between everyone from the growers, smugglers, dealers etc.

$40,000,000 / (20,000lbs x 16oz)=$125.00/oz
$40,000,000 / (15,000lbs x 16oz)=$166.67/oz
$28,000,000 / (20,000lbs x 16oz)=$87.50/oz
$28,000,000 / (15,000lbs x 16oz)=$116.67/oz

Anyway I hope the sheriff bumbled onto an operation that the DEA have been watching for a year now and ruined a million dollar investigation just to make 2 busts and toot there horn how big it was. lol

Well...depends on how you look at it. Over $40 million would have been invested once it was all sold.
Think about it....
$40,000,000/ (20,000lbs x 16oz x 28g)= 4.46
Correct me if im wrong, but that's saying each gram only sells for 4.46.....we all know a gram sells at 10.
Obviously he will sell pounds to dealers...but then each dealer breaks that into ounces...and then those people sell the grams. Well over $40 million would be generated after it was all sold, and broken down into the smaller and smaller dealers.

Think about it. If the cops confiscated my Cougar back when it was brand new would it be accurate for them to say it was "valued at $30k~40K" because over the next 10~15 years and 3-5 owners is will gross that much revenue?

you talking about how much potential revenue it can generate over it's product lifespan, not it's actual value.

I just did the math to humor myself and see what the cops were estimating it's value at. They've been know to get a bit unrealistic when they throw numbers out to the press. Look at grow house busts. The amount you get charged with is the weight of the complete plant. that's root ball, stalk, stems, every last oz. of the plant you get charged with as if it was all bud.

On the local news i've seen the cops value their bust based on that weight with a big **** eating grin on there face more times then I can remember.

Sorry I didn't know there was a golden rule? Isn't seedy brown stuff from south of the border going to sell for alot less the some prime seedless BC bud from north of the border? Or some indoor grown sensi from down the street that was grown with love and care from premium strains?

$10 x 28g = $280.00 oz. Around here I'm sure you could find a oz of south of the border stuff for $140~160 range without to much effort. Yea it'll have some seeds and stems and maybe a mexican grasshopper's leg too if your lucky. lol

Well I could sell my cougar to my brother for 5K, buy it back for 5K then do it over again and claim it generated over 20K in gross revenue, but I still lost my *** on fee's and taxes and wasted time. lol

Okay.... but you're assuming that it's going to be sold all in ounces.
It's value is totally dependent upon the variables. I don't know, but as far as I know, Mexican or not- a gram of your standard, "reggo" is $10. A SINGLE gram. I never said each gram was $10, EVEN when you buy in multiples.
So, 28 grams per ounce= $280
$280 * (20,000*16) = Street value in grams.
$100 * (20,000*16)= Steet Value in ounces.

Even if you factor out it's lifetime value, it's "value" cannot be determined, because you cannot predict in what denominations it will be sold.

Could be all grams, could be all Quarter pounds, to all Full Pounds.
In which case, a pound is like $800, which means the value is only 16Million.
If you sold all 20k in sets of 5lbs, the value would sink to $12 million.
Who knows, maybe if you sold all 20k lbs, it'd only be worth $8million, which is only $400 a pound. That means you way over-estimated the value.
