I am on day two of my headgasket job and could use some pointers, tips, tricks and all that jazz to make it a little easier. I have been working on it in my time between work and school and its killing me getting my car back in running shape. I just got the heads off and any help is very appreciated as I am still kind of a newb when it comes to thunderbirds and 3.8s.

Thanks for you help

IMO, gasket remover and 96+ heads with matching gaskets (could go MLS but not really worth it for a stock N/A).

An accurate torque wrench. The head bolts on my sc were under torqued when I bought it, as a result it blew the gasket less than 500 miles after a rebuild. So dude sold it, and I bought it.

Coolant passage redesign that puts more material to stop the HG issues. Not required but if you are going to keep the car I'd spend the ~$250 for a set of head out of junkyard. Now if you don't plan on keeping the car for ever don't worry about it.
