You can install a manual mustang rack if that is what you are after.

okay well i went and looked on sccoa too and someone claimed that the racks from a fox body require modifying the tie rods and that the 94 and up are a bolt in,can anyone vouch for that?

I dont know if i still plan on doing this to my car im just kind of curious now.

okay well search FTW,i found this to be pretty helpful

I just got done doing this. I have found that all mustang racks from mid 70's up to 2004 will bolt in are cars. The probblems you will run into is mid 70's up to 93 the inner tie rods are way to short but your steering shaft will fit if it is NOT a Flameing river rack. I got to looking at my wifes 01 Mustang and found that the inner tire rods are long enough and the same thread only probblem was the steering shaft was not the same, No big deal I figured I would just get one for a 94-04 stang and adapt. I could not find a stock manual rack for a 94-04 stang I guss Ford never made one. So I got ahold of a Flameing river dealer and he sold me a bolt in rack for a 01 stang?????? I got it and found out that Flameing river has there own thread size on the rack 9/16x18 tpi and stock 01 stangs and T-birds have 14mmx1.5mm and there steering shaft are also diffrent from a stangs I guss they do this so you have to buy everthing from Flameing river so after hours of custom work I got it installed. If you can find a manual rack that is a exact fit for a 94-04 mustang you will have alot less hassle. PS the outter tie rods for a mustang (94-04) are to short for a T-bird so you have to use the bird ones.

so would using a fox body rack but trying to put the t-bird inner and outer tie rods on probably be the simplest way?

I bought a direct fit manual rack for my 91 SC about a year ago for about $220 bux from Sextons Antioch auto parts in Antioch Illinois. Its the same as the flaming rivers you just need to use your old tie rod ends & you will need the top section off your old rag joint, drill out the two rivits & bolt it up to the bottom section that comes with the new rack Its a pretty simple mod. There is no part # cuz he was custom making them for a group purchase over at SCCoA a while back so mention you are a member. Ask for Mike sexton 847 395-3660

The u-joint was 68 bux from summit FLA-FR1924 if your doing the steering shaft mod that 392 bird has. Otherwise you would reuse your factory rag joint with the bottom section that comes with the new part.
