Hey guys. My battery leaked and I think it destroyed the electrical connector coming from the air bag sensor in front of the battery. I was going to try to replace it but I was curious if anyone has a recommendation on the connector.
Do you think I can get one at the dealership? I tried autozone/advance and all they have are those butt or bullet connectors. That seems a little crummy to me. Any weatherproof connector with at least 3 pins will work. So any suggestions?
I guess I will go with the suggestions and use a connector out of the junkyard. I have to be honest, I would have expected to be able to find connectors easily. I mean what do people do when they rewire the whole engine compartment? Do you need to get all the connectors from the donor car?
Some connectors are offered, others aren't. Usually rewiring for another engine involves a donor harness. Otherwise sometimes only select connectors need to be changed and/or lengthened.
Often the FordOEM air bag sensor connections have gold-plated terminals for conductivity, not sure if that includes MN-12s. The replacement ones from Motorcraft usually don't. So a JY connector is probably the best way to go as suggested.
cheers
