I see lot of beautiful air tubes on these pages. However, they appear to hook up to a different intake set up than what I have. My Throttle body is not big and round. It is big and oval or even rectangular with rounded corners.
its at the very back of the engine bay and faces up not towards the passenger side front wheel. That's right I have a 32V Intech DOHC 4.6. is there anyone who makes the adapter from the twin butterfly intake on thes cars to the 3" or 4" round silicone hose and aluminum tubes used to get better airflow?

There are only aftermarket intake tubes available for cars with old 5 liter motors and 96-97 Birds and Cougars. Nothing for Mark VIIIs. If you want one, you will have to make it yourself. I plan on making one for my Bird and one for my off road Mark this winter.

The throttle body placement you are describing is out of 93-96 Marks. Is this for the 98 listed in your sig? If so, someone put a older engine setup into it.

Exactly... what you have described and what the previous reply as stated is a stock setup for a 1993-1996 Mark VIII.

The air intake tube itself really isn't too bad in my opinion, although they can be "cleaned up" quite a bit by removing the air silencers. The end result is the same if not better than what you would find with anything aftermarket. I've done this on many over the years with good results. You're not likely to see any power increase from doing this, but it does clean up the engine bay and make the intake sound under acceleration more distinct. Here is a photo of one of the ones I have done:

I have a stock core sitting in the garage at the moment that I could make another if you are interested. Drop me a PM for price.
