Its been a while since I have done anything to the cougar, I haven't been using it much lately unfortunately but right before I stopped using it I did an alignment on it at my school and as I was doing it I noticed that on the front passenger side that the "slots" on the rear of the K-member for the centric cam bolt and the washer to adjust the lower control arm are gone (where the washer sits between) they look like they were sheard off somehow. I got the bolt to as close as I could to bring the alignment into specs but I imagine it will not stay very well. Any ideas how this could of happened? short of replacing the k- member is there a way to fix this?

On mine it's an upside down big "U" that's welded to the K-member and the washer is just like on the front, it's excentric and locked to the bolt itsef as I recall, the front side has same big "U" welded in place and same excentric washer on bolt with a locking nut on it. When you loosen the nut, and turn the bolt, both washers turn with the bolt I believe, moving the lower pivot in or out.

How that big "U" fell off and took a washer with it that's under the head of the big LCA pivot bolt's head is a real mystery .... unless it was just never there from day one which is most likely.

No way I'ld change K-members.

I'ld maybe find a donor and grind welds and take that big "U" and weld in place on my car and put a new washer in place.

In the alternative, I'ld weld two pieces of 1/4 x 1/4 x 1-1/2 pieces of steel and put a new washer in place. Space them same distance apart as the diameter of the excentric washer and center the hold for the bolt between them.

Just like on the other side.

Sorry for the miscommunication the washer is still there but that "U" shape that is in the front is not on the rear of the K-member on the passenger side and it does look like it used to be there.

Front K?

Hello

I just junked my bent front K, Sorry.:zdunno:

You don't need the loop for daily driving. Mostly for Alignment.

after the weather breaks, go pick one up. (Front K)

Here we have Lake affect snow. Got over 7" yesterday. More today & tomorrow. lol:xpp:

Yeah, you could even use a couple small bolts to fasten a strip on either side beside the washer
