I would think this would be a question for Major Thom.

Seeing as he has AED blower on his car, it's black and he lives in Arizona. No air conditioning on a black car in Arizona would not be a good idea.

Looks like the pulley for the supercharger is located between the idler pulley and the alternator. The alternator has to be turned around, but the A/C compressor, which is mounted on the lower right hand side of the engine, should not be affected.

Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I use my A/C all the time...

Fact, all AED kit's do not remove or hinder A/C performance. Fact, on a hot day with the A/C on and pushing boost, the temp gauge may scare you a little.

I run 12's in the 1/4 mile with my AED blown '95 T-Bird. The A/C works great especially today in the 102 degree weather. Mager has got me beat on the heat situation, I can't touch what he has to go through on a daily basis.

Only with the A/C on...

Greenbird,

I only had a problem if it was 90-105 degrees ambient temp, the A/C is on and I'm pushing the car. The temp would climb higher than I wanted.

I have the factory radiator in my car with regular fluid changes (last one with the new engine). I run a 180 degree t-stat as my only cooling mod (unless you want to consider Redline Water Wetter).

Since I went to a 180 degree t-stat, the engine coolant temperature only reaches the 220 degrees with the A/C on and if I'm into the boost. If the A/C is off, the temp gauge never climbs higher than 185 degrees F. If it's cold out, the temp never gets higher than 180 degrees F.

You do not need to upgrade the radiator with AED kit. I doubt a larger unit would fit anyhow with the alt backwards. I know Glenn ("Thunderblower" featured in Super Ford magazine) upgraded to a larger radiator for his '96 T-Bird. It required some band aides and hydrogen peroxide if I recall correctly.

The bottom line is you do not need to upgrade the radiator with the AED blower or a Vortech. Each car will vary on the amount of strain on the cooling system.

The extra heat comes from the A/C being on, not the AED kit.

180 degree thermostat and modified on/off temps for the fan will resolve the high water temp problem. Unless your EEC has modified fan temps the EEC still turns the fan on at 228 degrees reguardless of the thermostat installed. The Allen Engine tuner file I have uses the following temps.

Yes you are correct...

Rich,

Yes you are 100% correct, I forgot to mention that my cooling fan on/off has been modified by Jerry. It wouldn't help much to have a 180 degree t-stat and a fan that turns on at 221 degrees F.

However before I had the EEC reflashed, I found the 180 degree t-stat did aid in cooling the T-Bird off with the A/C on.

I've got my EEC set by the man also and everything's fine 'til
ambient gets above 100 degrees F. When it's 105 -110 down here
my temp "gauge" quickly cilmbs to 80% of the arc and will slowly
go higher. My guess is the cooling system has reached max
"throwing" capacity. I think a bigger aluminum radiator would
help. It's fine below 100 degrees.

When it starts to really climb on a 108 degree day I can bring
it down quite easily to 60-70% of my gauge by turning the heater
and fan on full tilt....the experience is, shall we say,
unique.....:p
