Hello, folks...

What is the torque specification for the alternator nut? I am not at home, and don't have my service manual, and am making a go at a pulley installation.

1994, 4.6L engine.

Thanks!

Can't find a spec. for the 4.6L alternator pulley nut.

The Shop Manual shows 60 to 100 lb. ft. for the 3.8L alternator pulley nut.

From my manual...
Installation

1. Position the generator on the engine.

2. Install pivot bolt. Tighten pivot bolt to 40-55 N-m (30-40 lb-ft).

3. Install generator mounting bolt. Tighten to 20-30 N-m (15-22 lb-ft).

4. Install the drive belt over the generator pulley. Refer to «Section 03-05».

5. Connect the engine control sensor wiring (12A581) to the generator/voltage regulator. Tighten generator output nut to 7-9 N-m (62-79 lb-in).

6. Connect battery ground cable.

Hope this is what you're looking for, Pete.

Thanks, R-T...

Pulleys will have to wait for yet another day. Despite my son and I using an impact wrench on the crank bolt, we were unsuccessful at getting it to budge. I may have to get a shop to do it... :(
