Ok, so I work at the shop that built and maintains this car, but for two years none of us have been able to figure out where these tail lights came from. They showed up in a shipment of parts from ford, with no labels other than a part number. I googled the part number with no results and we even called ford and they said the part was unavailable to them. Our guess is that it may be a Canadian or Australian part. I know pretty much everywhere but America requires an amber turn signal, but I am not sure where mustangs were released. I thought for a while that it was a shelby item like the old svt tail lights, but I saw one the other day and it didn't have these

I'd need to see those on a stock Mustang to see if I like them or not :) They do look kinda cool

If they are export items, how do those countries legalize these cars because there are no right hand drive mustangs? This has been puzzling me for a while.

them being RHD has nothing to do with it. I drive my mustang everyday here in England. All I had to get done was amber turn signals, amber side markers and rig up a part of the tail light as a rear fog light.

Is the rear fog light just a brighter setting for the tails? My fiance's '11 A4 has a button for the fog lights, then there was another button below it that I never could figure out what it did. I was parked closed to something one day and I pushed the button, and the taillights get brighter.

I was sitting in the Jaguar one night and looking at the fog light switch on the dash, and I was like hmm, the switch next to it looks like it might be rear fog lights. I turned them on and its basically two extra bulbs that turn on to make the tail lights appear brighter. I didnt realize that is actually required in England. I did think it was a kind of cool feature though. One night I turned them on while my wife was following me and she called me saying the brake lights werent turning off! :D

pretty much. picturing the 99-04 lights, i want to say 1/3 is brake, the other 2/3 is rear fogs. might be the reverse way, never paid much attention to it. but it's also illegal to drive around with them on unless it's, well, foggy. I might have had to use fog lights maybe once in the last 1.5 years being here. i wish i could get my hands on some 99-01 cobra tail lights as I currently have no reverse lights. those are currently my rear turn signals.

People used to convert 94-04 stangs to RHD the dash design seemed to make this easy due to its "pod" design. 05+ is probably swappable too.

The film "love the beast" has a RHD 65 or so bird.

Seems like a waste. Part of the appeal that I've heard from talking with British owners is that they are driving a mustang. an iconic car that gets looks and questions wherever they go. I've only seen, I believe, two RHD mustangs over here. One was an 05, which had a lot of other work done to it, and a 60-something shelby that was previously imported to Australia and brought back over here.
