I recently bought a power acoustik 4 channel amp but it is really weird to me cause it does not have the screws you attach the speaker wire to it has a wiring harness sort of like a radio has. with 8 sets of wires + & - its a 4 channel with 4 rca inputs but they dont say L or R it says 1ch 2ch 3ch 4ch also they are not color coded in back or red. the manual says when using the low input rca's do not use the high input wires just use the negative speaker wires. the speaker wires are connected to a harness that clips in too the amp. so would i need a quad set of rca's from the hu to this amp ( 4 rca's on each end) i am going to buy a pioneer with 3 sets of rca's for front rear and sub. is this the way i would have to go? i usally see on a 4 channel amp 4 sets of screw clamps for the speaker wire but this just has a clip and the wires are hanging there already. sorry for the long post i am really confused!!! i would post pics but it is in my snowed up garage as of right now. this is the only pic i have, HELP!!!

those wires are for high level input which is where you connect speakers wire from the h/u to the amp. just skip those and straight use the rca cable and you are all set.

Sorry about not putting up pics but right now i have a load of snow on the door, its an auto door that is pretty shot as it is. all the assh*le niebhors piled the snow on my garage. and the amp is in the trunk. I have a link to pics of the amp to show what it is im trying to explain about the harness that plugs into the amp. also the 4 rca's are marked 1ch 2ch 3 ch 4 ch, and are not red and white that is why i thought i might need a 4 channel rca set up.

As far as I know, and Im no expert, you will need a 4ch rca if you want to be able to fade it front to back. Otherwise you run a 2ch rca and "Y" it at the amp, but you wont be able to fade it. How many rca jacks do you have on the headunit, just front and rear? I have 3 sets on my Alpine, front/rear/and sub..

can you post a pic, or a link of the diagram they give you for the speaker connections?

It sounds like, if you use the RCA's(which you should), then the negative side of the high level input is your negative for the speakers....maybe, this is just a guess...I'd have to see a schematic/wiring diagram to tell for sure.

i going to get the pioneer 7800 3 sets of rca's front rear and sub. i know the booklet said that if i use the low level rca's only use the speaker negatives. the booklet is stuck in my snowed up garage i really dont want to shovel for a few hours just to get LOL. i got those pics in the link from google. also if i run 1 set of rca's where do i plug em into the 1st channel and 4th channel? sort of like bridgeing it?

It really doesn't matter...

If all the channels have the same power, then use whichever one you want; you just have to hook the rca for the channel you want to the one you hooked the speaker to...

If you hook the right front speaker to CH1, then hook the CH1 RCA to the right front output on your deck, and so on.

The amp I have has six channels; I'm running the front and rear of four of them, and bridging two together for the sub.

I rebuilt the sub channels to handle over 1000 watts, but it wasn't that way originally; they all were 100wrms channels.

If you have more powerful channels, I would use those for the rear, or sub output, but that's me.
