Ana Beatriz the first woman to win a Firestone Indy Lights race in 2008, starts her second Indy 500 in 32nd position.

And of course Danica ... in what may be her final Indy 500 start, Patrick qualified 25th (Row Nine) for her seventh Indy race; her best finish is third in 2009, the highest finish by a woman in the race.

Not really an apples to apples comparison. Danica looks much different in her racing gear.

I'm with you; Simona De Silvestro is cute in racing gear; I bet she looks great in evening wear...

I've seen Danica throw too many tantrums to think she's cute anymore...

Results are in:

As expected Danica finished highest among the women. Placing 10th overall, a very respectible finish.

Ana Beatriz really proved her talent as she drove a good, consistent race. The Brazilian kept her nose clean. Unfortunately, a fuel miscalculation was made and the Brazilian had to pit on the green a couple of laps too early, which caused her to go a lap down. Luck wasn't on Beatriz's side because the yellows came out at the wrong time, which hurt her strategy even more. From that point on, it was an uphill battle and she was unable to recover. Fortunately, she stuck it out and, although she was three laps down, Beatriz finished the race in 21st position.

Simona de Silvestro

Crashing in practice on May 19, when something (suspension probably) broke in Turn 3, the car got airborne and into the catchfence, before coming to a rest upside down and on fire. She is awake and alert and has been transported to hospital with 2nd degree burns to her hand. She was released from the hospital later that day.

Simona went on to qualify 23rd and placed 31st out of the field of 33 after an early tangle with Indy's concrete walls and only completed 44 laps in the race
