Got my setup done!

Along the same lines as screaminbird's but With new cats and y-pipe. Instead of a third cat Im running a 22" free flow (straight through design) magnaflow where the third cat and resonator used to be.

Some pics:

Dual Tip to come soon... Haha

Overall though its not that loud... Instead it sounds rather.... Classy. It really doesnt ROAR until 1/2 -3/4 throttle. But has a REAL nice deep mope like a classy sports car. (reminds me of a Borla type of Deep, rich sound)

I know it looks odd with the single tip, but as soon as I can find a tip I LIKE! She will get a dual tip in the near future.

Performance wise, She has GOBS more Mid range. Throttle response definitely has a noticeable increase as well! Overall this is by far the best sounding, least restrictive, easiest, (cheapest) setup for the MN12 out there.

like i said, neither am I. Its all I had on hand at the time. And still looks better than a raw pipe stickin out.

Thinking something along the lines of this:

but I need to find a better price than 200 bucks!

You have no idea how hard it is to find a 3" INLET dual tip! I see now why magnaflow charges 200 bucks! BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO MAKE THEM!

LOL

Down pipes are 2.5" to a Magnaflow 2.5" to 3" collector. (the Magnaflow Y was trimmed down to save room, as well as the Muffler).

I will have to get some video up, My camera has a HORRID mic though.

Yeah I saw that, But if you look closer its slanted, its meant to be used with another one like it, for a simulated quad tip...

yeah i noticed that after i posted it, you might want to hit the junkyards and look for like older grand am gt's and maybe hack one off one of them, just a thought

oh yeah and I think that is one of the best sounds from a bird I've heard so far

Goat, do you think there would be room for your identical setup, only have a resonator to get out some drone? Maybe in front of the muffler?

Eeek,

Its very close as it is now. I mean we had to chop some length off both the muffler and the Y-collector to make some room. 22'' of muffler really kills the drone very well as it is. (when I think of drone I think of interior highway kind of drone).

If your not talking about interior drone, please correct me. But the interior sound is actually very nice. Great tone, but not annoying in the least (and great at highway speeds, and I don't have any interior carpet).

But to answer your question directly. No. I wouldn't think there would be enough room. You also have to consider pipe bends and angle as well. Coming out of the muffler made for a tighter bend than I really wanted to begin with.

When i did my 3" single i used a 16" overall length muffler and even then there really isn't a whole lot of room. i wouldn't say a tight fit but there ain't a whole lot of room to play with either.

Thats what I am worried about, interior drone on the highway (I will have 3.55's). I'd almost like silent on the highway... whats this like?

Screamin, how is your drone? I'm looking at a borla 16".

There is no drone at any RPM. However i have mine turned down AND out. I run the SC bumper so it hides the pipe quite well. Your local muffler shop should be able to turn the tip down as well as out. I also had it exit on the driver side, that way it eliminates some bends and length, and also is quieter for the passenger.
