After making a few changes to my setup my car wasnt running right. It was lacking response and power. It was struggling to climb above 3500. First thing I tried was remove the antireversion plate (or so i belive thats what it is). I went out and test drove it idled the same lumpy chuging tune. Responsiveness had greatly improve and now can hit revs without struggling and bogging down. Next item i ever can buy for this car is a wideban and other tuning aids way before i bolt the turbos on.

Anyone else ever have good results with removing the plate?? ALso as a note im running stage 2 cams, 30#red tops, exhaust, TB, mildly ported intake, and other small bolt ons on the stock ecu no tune.

put that plate back in and buy a tune and you'll be all set.

your first problem is ****ing with the MAF, next being that the EEC is not picking up the proper injector function, and third being that changed have been made to ciritical sensory nodes of the engine that have the potential of giving the EEC the finger. You could have avoided most of this by running a more accurate MAF to go with the hair dryers and running a tune by a tuner that can actually work with the proper MAF function instead of being ghetto and cheap, all the while lying to the EEC. have fun.

The first thing I thought when I saw the thread title was, "now why would someone even think to mess with that?" Good luck keeping that engine together for long.

he is smarter than those sct guys...
he is smarter than them??? thats why he has 30lb injectors on a stock pcm, and is removing the plate from his maf because it "seems to run better"? I don't think your giving our friends at sct as much credit as they deserve

no, sct guy is not smart because they need to use couple hundred bucks worth of equipment to make the car run right, while our friend here just need to do a simple free mod using a screwdriver and it "solved" his problem...

those couple hundred bucks worth of equipment are insurance, datalogging is your friend and so is sct and their equipment and staff.

I would much rather shell out a couple hundred bucks to get the car I slaved so hard on running properly not "alright" and actually solving the problem not "jiggy rigging it to work" ghetto fixes end up biting you in the a$$.

Couple hundred bucks in SCT equipment > Buying a new engine because you rigged it together and it went boom

Has anyone that has responded here looked at his posts on his twin turbo install? He is already so far outside the box no sct tuner is going to touch him. Traditional maps ain't gonna work. If he can read a plug and make sure he is not going way rich and washing down, or going lean and melting down, then he may do fine. Won't be optimized but................Have at it bud. Now as to the rest of you, don't be stupid. This is not a performance upgrade.
