Do you mean something to tell you when to shift, like a shift light, or something indicating what gear you're in?

If you mean a display to indicate what gear you're in, my Gen II has that in the middle of the gauge panel. I'm guessing it just senses the position of the MLPS and lights up the appropriate light behind the 123NRP emblem. It might be driven by the EEC, but the schematic would show either way.

You mean like this?
<img src="http://www.mn12tbird.com/mods/infocenter/infocenter08.jpg">
Torque Converter state (Unlocked) EEC Command Gear (1st) Shifter position (Park)
<img src="http://www.mn12tbird.com/mods/infocenter/infocenter02.jpg">

Mine is part of the W&S Motorsports Info Center which reads all that info off of the EEC. I don't think they make them anymore though.

Probably not nearly as advanced as the W&S, but it might show the shift position: http://www.aeroforcetech.com/ ($220 or so... and I don't know if it will work on the early OBDII of the MN12's)
