your question last time...sinhumane said:joel... you ever consider painting the vents and the glovebox? silver buttons would look nice....
my answer last time...sinhumane said:hmm.. joel... may i offer painting latches and vents silver? they look a little out of place IMO.
Silver is ghey. Back off my interior.GODSPEED said:Everything is going to black eventually. I was in a hurry to get the car back together so a few things here and there didnt get painted.
Good eye. The steering wheel is one of the few original pieces on the car. It's mounted on a 97 steering column. I made a small bracket to locate the 89-93 cruise/horn contacts in the correct location on the 97 column. So yes, everything on the steering wheel does work. The only "problem" is that there is a bit of a gap between the steering wheel and the column trim. The 89-93's used a trim ring to cover the gap, and the 94-97 wheels have a slightly farther reach to cover the gap without a trim ring. Since a 89-93 trim ring won't fit, I'll need to make something, but it's kind of at the bottom of my list at the moment.Traveler said:Rod, everytime I see that interior, I notice somthing else. You've upgraded to the 97 interior (I knew that) but you still have the original style XR7 Steering wheel. I've always liked that style wheel. How did you use it. Does the car still have the original column? or does it have a 97 column? If you have a new column and the old wheel, do the Cruise Control buttons still work? LOL I know, lots of questions.... And the car looks great (as always).
